The Let’s Do Business Group is one of the leading providers of business support across the South East providing business advice, training, finance and networking opportunities. 

Let’s Do Business Group delivers the South East Business Boost project under contract to East Sussex County Council. The project is part funded by the 2014 to 2020 European Regional Development Fund Programme.

The project is managed through the Business East Sussex Growth Hub and is aimed at supporting both new and established businesses to develop and grow.

Our team brings specialist support and experience providing a single point of contact for all business support needs.

As the result of a new contract we are strengthening and expanding our team in support of the business economy of East Sussex.

To collate an extensive knowledge bank of the finance available to East Sussex firms: traditional (banks etc), alternative (Angel Investors, crowd funding, venture capital) etc. To raise awareness among East Sussex businesses of support that is available to help businesses start up and grow by determining their requirements. This will involve reaching out to businesses, answering enquires, sign-posting information, completing diagnostics, fulfilling requests, following up the enquiries and maintaining a database; working closely with the Access to Finance Facilitator to provide financing leads for potential applications. Liaising with the BES Manager and directing clients to them where applicable and; undertaking follow up activity with clients to determine take up of signposting and level of client satisfaction

To support the successful delivery of ESCC’s role as a partner in the £12m European Regional Development Fund programme.


  • Researching the range of funding models available – and establishing what is in the local, SELEP, national and international areas
  • Proactively and reactively engaging with potential investors, existing networks and relevant support organisations (FCA, HMRC) to encourage (greater) activity in East Sussex
  • Advising potential financers/investors correctly on options for investing and supporting them to create networks/platforms.
  • Where appropriate, support clients through the finance application process
  • Ensuring key performance indicators are achieved
  • Meeting prescribed targets relating to quality and contractual standards
  • Feeding information to the Access to Finance Facilitator and updating Finance Finder
  • Adherence to all Data Protection and Confidentiality protocols

Role Specific Requirements

  • Ability and flexibility to travel within the county and more widely to ensure the delivery of outcomes is an essential of this role
  • It is expected that the successful applicant will have access to a suitable vehicle which will need to be insured for business use.  Costs incurred for vehicle use for activities in connection with the position will be reimbursed at an agreed rate per month
