The Start Up September campaign, which saw huge success in 2022, is back this September to highlight the range of support available for start up businesses and entrepreneurs and to celebrate start-up successes.
Let’s Do Business Group, a leading provider of business support and training in the South East and East of England, is excited to announce the return of its "Start-up September" campaign in 2023. After another challenging year for businesses, this years month-long campaign is focused on engaging with aspiring entrepreneurs and new businesses to highlight success stories, the wide range of support available, and provide helpful resources that can help them on their business journey, offering free events, networking opportunities and more.
Start Up September in previous years
The Start Up September campaign, which began in 2021, has seen year on year success. In 2022, the campaign saw an additional 46 clients come to Let’s Do Business Group to attend free workshops and events, as well as 27 new clients receive free consultations with in-house experts on business planning, marketing, accounting and more.
An official Business Support Partner of the Start Up Loan Scheme from the British Business Bank, Let’s Do Business Group saw a sharp rise in enquiries from entrepreneurs seeking out business finance in the month of September 2022 off the back of the Start Up September campaign; and through this, an additional £295k was lent through the scheme to aid new businesses across the South East of England to jumpstart their new enterprises.
It's hoped that Start Up September 2023 will be bigger and better than previous years, with an added emphasis on the availability of marketing support through Let’s Do Business Group’s new venture, Let’s Do Marketing, a marketing agency created with small businesses and entrepreneurs in mind. Offering free consultations throughout the month to give advice and strategy to new businesses to enable them to put their best foot forward with their marketing, the newly launched agency is also running a free to join workshop on the basics of setting up your social media channels and creating a social media strategy.
New this year, the campaign will kick off start up support to areas in North Essex under the North Essex Economic Board (NEEB), and include free events to attend as well as up to 12 hours of free support from business experts to interested start-up businesses and entrepreneurs.
What’s happening this Start Up September?
Participants can expect an array of events, including virtual and in-person workshops, networking opportunities, and daily resources, success stories and top-tips shared on the social media channels of Let’s Do Business Group.
Key highlights of the campaign include:
1. Social Media Marketing for Small Businesses: Free workshop
Let’s Do Marketing will present a 3 hour workshop on Tuesday 5th September to give practical help on setting up your social media channels, establishing your branding, creating graphics on Canva and scheduling and creating posts within Hootsuite and other social media scheduling tools.
2. Mentorship Opportunities: Budding entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to connect with seasoned mentors who can provide personalized guidance and support throughout their entrepreneurial journey.
2. Start My Biz : Free Start Up Business Webinars (for North Essex businesses)
With expert business coaches from Let's Do Business Group, learn everything from refining your business idea to marketing and managing your finances - and prepare to successfully start your business. This free workshop is brought you to you by the team at the North Essex Economic Board, Backing Essex Business, and Let's Do Business Group.
Hosted by an expert business coach from Let’s Do Business Group, this free workshop will help you to Learn the skills you need to start your own business or go into self employment, covering marketing, finance, business strategy and more!
4. Her Biz: Free Virtual Start Up Business Workshop for women in East Sussex & Kent
The popular Her Biz programme helps aspiring female entrepreneurs to set up their own business. Gain the tools, knowledge, and confidence to start your business venture! This free women's start-up programme offers a £500 prize to put towards start-up costs in a business plan competition.
