Personality Behavioural Profiler and Achievements Life Coach, Dawn Evans, of Discover Yourself Coaching, explains how the support from Let’s Do Business Group through it’s ‘Ready for Business’ start-up workshops and subsequent free tailored advice, has helped her fulfil her dream of starting her own business.
Discover Yourself Coaching, which has been registered since January 2022, offers personality profiling, which can be used by individuals, families, and employers/companies to discover personality traits, strengths, weaknesses, to identify areas of personal development. Personality Profiling gives people a deeper awareness of themselves, awareness of those around them and ensures that you become a better communicator. Individual coaching is available to assist the individuals to improve areas of their lives moving forward.

Understanding personality traits is incredibly useful for us as people, and beneficial in a business environment. As a business owner/manager it is important to know and acknowledge the strengths of the team around you, developing people who are able to fulfil the needs of the business, as well as creating a better team environment when acknowledging each other’s perspectives. Understanding the personalities of your team helps dissolve any potential conflict, and also helps you as a manager to ascertain if you are allocating work in the most productive way. You want to be able to build a strong team, who have all the skills needed for succession planning.
It is important to say that this is not a test to place anyone in a box! It is a questionnaire that takes 7 minutes and costs just £95 per person. The questionnaire produces a full 16-page report outlining the results, which gives details of an individual’s personality characteristics. The individual is then invited to receive some constructive feedback to discuss the results and what they mean. Following on from this, there is the opportunity to commission coaching sessions to work on the elements of the report that the individual wishes to improve upon.
Business owner Dawn has always been fascinated by the behaviour of others. With a background in counselling and psychotherapy, she completed a Personal Performance Coaching DIploma course in December 2021 with ‘The Coaching Academy’ receiving a distinction.

Before starting her business, Dawn attended a workshop series hosted by Let’s Do Business Group called ‘Ready for Business’. Ready for Business is a FREE 10-hour programme split across 4 x 2.5hr sessions for entrepreneurs that are thinking about starting a business in Hastings, Bexhill and Sidley. The workshops are led by an experienced Business Coach and are packed with expert advice about branding, marketing, finances, and recruitment. The programme is fully funded by the CHART project (Connecting Hastings and Rother Together) which is a Community Led Local Development (CLLD) Programme that supports projects that bring a fresh approach to tackling deep-rooted problems in deprived communities within Hastings and Bexhill.

Having completed the course, and gone on to start and register her business, Dawn then re-approached Let’s Do Business Group for support in taking her next steps and defining her launch strategy. Working with Business Manager Emily Wright, she was able to receive a further 12 hours free business support, accessing training on social media, and presentation skills.

Now with a clear path forward, Dawn is already building momentum with an increasing list of clients, a network of potential clients to talk to, and a marketing plan of how to get her services promoted to individuals and businesses in the area.
