Her Biz December 2023 Winner
Melinda Adams, Founder of We Click CIC and Director of Incredible Thinks Ltd, wins £500 to jumpstart her businesses which aims to support people facing difficulties in life through the NatWest funded Her Biz business programme
Starting her journey back in 2014 from a place of hardships, Melinda created Incredible Thinks Ltd nine years later to help many of their clients going through experiences similar to her own.
Melinda won £500 towards her start-up costs for We Click CIC and Incredible Thinks Ltd after taking part in the NatWest funded Her Biz start-up workshop programme in December 2023, and submitting her winning business plan to the following optional competition, which is open to all participants.
The Her Biz programme, which is delivered by Let’s Do Business Group and supported by NatWest bank, consists of 4 x 2-hour workshops over 4 weeks, and aims to increase entrepreneurship by breaking down the barriers between women and starting or growing a business. Delivered virtually over Zoom by expert business coaches, the programme has been a long running success since it launched over 4 years ago.
What is Incredible Thinks?
Incredible Thinks Ltd – also known as iThinks – offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to revolutionise wellness and empower individuals in Change Management roles. Their mission is to simplify financial struggles, health issues and personal hardships. Whether you were someone who struggled at school or have difficulties finding work, they are here to help. Believing in the power of “5 Ways to Wellbeing”, they start by helping clients to get active, both physically and mentally, before enrolling them onto a course with either a tutor or independently.
Before creating Incredible Thinks, Melinda gained experience in setting up and managing operations through her role as an Engagement and Employability Coach and Digital Skills Tutor for the Department of Work and Pensions. This involved successfully establishing offices and overseeing large-scale initiatives, managing up to 50 subjects simultaneously.
Melinda also has a master’s in leadership, which includes coaching across organisations. Her previous roles have required her to continuously develop, ensuring that her skills remain current.
Melinda presented two business plans for the optional competition, the first for Incredible Thinks and a second for ‘WeClick CIC’- “Empowering communities one click at a time”, her UK-based non-profit organisation, WeClick CIC, focuses on Digital Skills, Literacy and Wellness, and is on a mission to create vibrant, inclusive spaces. In the future, she plans to partner with NGO’s, Councils, and local businesses in financial hardship initiatives to address systemic issues in the community and continue aligning initiatives with the Local Skills Improvement Plans.
Over the next 9 months, Melinda plans for Incredible Thinks to be able to offer fully comprehensive coaching and tuition in her own space and online. One of the first goals she plans to achieve early this year is to increase her online presence through a website and social media, and for later in the year, plans to develop an app with digital products such as affirmation cards.
Finding the Her Biz programme
Melinda joined the Her Biz Start Up Business Workshop to gain some clarity on the practicalities of starting her own business, and how she could set about making her ideas for WeClick CIC and Incredible Thinks Ltd a success.
The Her Biz Women’s Start Up Business Workshops, delivered through 4 x 2-hour sessions, covers everything from sales, marketing, finance, and business planning; and from this, Melinda was able to create her plan of making both WeClick CIC and Incredible Thinks Ltd official, and how she could turn her hobby into a full-time business. After completing a series of workshops, Melinda submitted her business plan to the subsequent competition, which is open to all attendees, and won the £500 prize towards her start-up costs.
Having completed the Her Biz programme with a renewed motivation for moving We Click CIC & Incredible Thinks Ltd forward, Melinda’s future hope is to expand and cater to a larger audience, hire additional staff or volunteers, and invest in face-to-face centres to provide a physical space for Digital Skills, Coaching and counselling services.
All the team at Let’s Do Business Group wish Melinda and Incredible Thinks Ltd & WeClick CIC the best of luck!
