Pier-to-Pier Charity Walk
Let’s Do Business Group team walks Pier-to-Pier to fundraise for charity this summer
On the 18th of June 2022, the Let’s Do Business Group team aim to complete the ‘Pier-to-Pier’ walk from Hastings pier to Eastbourne pier, in a fundraising effort for local charity St Michael’s Hospice and the Cancer Research campaign Stand Up To Cancer.
St Michael’s Hospice is a local charity close to our head office in St Leonards, and is a vital service in our community. It’s a cause that many of our families, friends and colleagues have had experience using, and the Hospice relies primarily on donations to keep up with its running costs. Our fundraising is part of our wider effort to raise money for the Hospice this year, and our Pier-to-Pier walk runs alongside our sponsoring of a duck on the ‘Follow That Duck’ art trail campaign which is in support of St Michael’s Hospice this summer in Bexhill and Hastings.
We have chosen to also fundraise for Stand Up To Cancer, as it is a cause close to many of our hearts. A member of our team, Rupert, is currently battling Neuroendocrine Cancer, and charities such as Stand Up To Cancer from Cancer Research are vital for funding lifesaving, breakthrough treatments and therapies for people like Rupert, and we want to do our bit, however small, to show our support.
